Enjoying beer and cycling - a tasty combination. Visit the historic towns around beer brewing in the Passau region. The Kloosterbrouwerij Aldersbach with the brewery to be visited and the legendary Bräustüberl is the final destination of the 13-kilometre bike ride along the BierRadlWeg.
The starting point of the cycling tour is on the Donauradweg in Vilshofen an der Donau, at the landmark of the BierRadlWege, the beer gate. With a visit to the BierKulturKeller with a lot of information about the Vilshofen-born inventor of beer, Joseph Groll, you start the tour and immediately experience everything about the occasion and the beer. Along the route through the unique landscape of the Vilstal, the road leads to the most beautiful stretches along the river and there are many places to rest and refuel.
In Aldersbach, after passing the beer gate on Aretinplatz, you will be greeted with the impressive presence of the former Cistercian monastery with brewery and St. Mary's Church. A visit to the Bräustüberl with Radlermaß and a bread meal should not be missed on this tour and will give you energy for the return journey to Vilshofen or the journey on the Vilstalradweg.
