Baarle-Nassau, North Brabant, The Netherlands
Cycling route: 1040311
Provided by: Groots Genieten
You first cycle through the enclave village of Baarle. A total of 30 pieces of Belgium and the Netherlands are intertwined here! Then you drive through the fields. In Esbeek you will pass the Holy Adrianus Church and the adjacent parsonage, both buildings are national monuments. Then you drive a bit through Landgoed De Utrecht, before briefly crossing the border with Belgium. The estate was developed in 1898 as a financial investment by life insurance company De Utrecht. It is now wonderful to cycle here through the extensive and varied forests. Get off at De Flaes, a tranquil fen. You can climb the striking lookout tower here for a beautiful panorama. You drive back along the Neterselse Heide.
