Quality course Heide Biber Tour
The Heide Biber Tour quality route runs between the two spa towns of Bad Düben and Bad Schmiedeberg. Forest and open heath landscapes alternate on the route.
In addition to charming nature and landscape, the route also offers many interesting cultural things.
The route of the Heide Biber Tour, which is marked with a beaver, starts in the Bad Dübener Kurpark in Gustav Adolfstrasse. First it goes past the Moorerlebnisgarten, Obermühlteich and the restored Bockwindmühle. Follow the footpath that runs parallel to the B2. At the first houses of Hammermühle turn left, then go to the bank of the Hammerbach, turn right and walk upstream. With a bit of luck you can visit the factory here.
Discover beavers in the form of beavers or gnawed tree trunks. In time the Hammerbach curves to the left and then bears a slight right into the Hammer Mill area, cross the B2 and walk to the next junction in the woods. There you turn left and walk straight on and then diagonally straight up to Tornau, where you can admire the Stelenweg and the Holzskulpturenweg. On Söllichauer Straße it goes in the direction of the center. Already behind the first houses you turn to the right and leave Tornau behind quite quickly. The path leads through the Hammerbach valley where you will find inviting seating and the Döbeltsmühle to Eisenhammer. There is a charcoal oven that still works and demonstrates the ancient craft of charcoal production. Not far from there is the beaver watchtower.
Old forest roads Dachszange, Reichsapfelweg and Reinharzer Weg now lead you through the middle of the Dübener Heide directly to the Reinharz moated castle, which is already visible from the forest. In addition to the moated castle with its park, the church, the Sophia spring and the brewery pond invite you to visit. After a long tour it goes back into the forest, passing the heath with shelter.
During a break you can experience the numerous animals of the forest here. Then the path leads directly to a wide forest road that you cross. After some time you will pass the gypsy tomb, walk a few meters along the road to the left and turn right in the direction of Kaiser Wilhelm Toren and you will come across the virgin tomb on your way. The view from the tower extends far over the Dübener Heide. The road then goes through the forest over the Vitriolteich and via the loop mill over the Moorerlebnispfad in the direction of Bad Schmiedeberg. You go through the park and finally reach the Art Nouveau spa house and thus your destination. On the banks of the Swan Pond with its fountain, you can comfortably end the walk.
