Tour of Burgh-Haamstede, Ellemeet and Plan Tureluur

Your route starts at De Zeeuwse Stromen. From here you drive through the wide polders. Get some fresh air while enjoying the peace and quiet. From the dike along Oosterschelde National Park you have a beautiful view over the water. You drive along the Prunje, the oldest polder on the island. The former swamp has been returned to nature thanks to the'Plan Tureluur\\\', which is now a true bird paradise. So it's worth stepping off and grabbing the binoculars! After a tour through the beautiful Westenschouwen Forestry you will discover Burgh-Haamstede. Burgh originated around a ring rampart that was erected at the end of the ninth century against raiding Normans. In Haamstede you can see Haamstede Castle here, a national monument from the thirteenth century.
