Tour of Ooijpolder and Millingerwaard

Your cycling route starts with a cup of coffee at the centrally located Van der Valk Hotel Nijmegen-Lent. Then you get on your bike for this beautiful route along and over the busiest river in Western Europe. Along the way you will discover various possibilities to strengthen the inner man. Be sure to stop for a cup of coffee at Camping De Waay! On the other side of the Waal you cycle straight through nature reserves Ooijpolder and Millingerwaard. The Ooijpolder is a former swamp area. Some authentic mound farms recall the time when dikes offered less security against the rising river water. From the polder you can see beautifully how Nijmegen and the surrounding hills rise into the landscape. Getting lost is impossible: follow the river and you will always come home!
