Your route starts at Van der Valk Hotel Arnhem. From here you take a nice tour through the Veluwezoom National Park, a nature reserve of about 5,000 hectares. In 1930 this became the first national park in the Netherlands. Very special to visit! The hilly landscape consists largely of forest, heathland and sand drifts. Red deer, roe deer and wild boars live in the park. You can also spot foxes and badgers along the way. Rare birds such as the tree falcon, honey buzzard, kingfisher and skylark also occur. In terms of reptile species, you will find vipers, grass snakes and lizards here. This is a special cycling tour through Dutch nature and places such as Ellecom, Rheden and of course Arnhem. Plenty of nice places to stop and take a break!
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
