Round Groet: figure eight polder and sea

After a walk through the polder and along the edge of the forest of the Schoorlse Duinen, you walk back into Groet. At the Kerkbrink you can see the Witte Kerkje from 1639. After lunch at your starting point, you walk further into the Schoorlse Duinen. The dunes are among the widest and highest in the Netherlands. The forest was created in the nineteenth century, because the residents of nearby Schoorl wanted to prevent their village from disappearing under the drifting sand. Just before you cross the Hargerstrandweg, you have a beautiful view over the dunes to the sea from the Camperduin lookout point. You walk back straight through the dunes.
