A walk through the farmer's forest

The Noardlike Fryske Walden (Northern Frisian Woods) is a special landscape with the beautiful Elzensingels and Eikenwallen, the great wealth of bird species and forest areas. But did you know that it is the farmers who maintain this scenic landscape? Due to their natural management, they guard the history and safeguard the future.

This walk is a nice tasting; you come across everything in 5.5 kilometers. You can walk around Harkema, but also through the Surhuizemer Mieden. There are no fewer than 240 different bird species. Be sure to take a look at the bird hide!

During this route you can easily walk from one village to another, surrounded by beautiful Frisian nature.
