Description
Your route starts at the Stal den Hollander farm shop. Via the Village Church of Wassenaar you cycle through an elongated strip of dunes to Katwijk aan Zee. Here you will see De Vuurbaak, a lighthouse from 1605, and the white Andreas Church from 1461. In the Coepelduynen you can enjoy the silence and the special natural beauty before you dive into the city. You cycle along the canals around the historic heart of Leiden, so you can clearly see that it has the shape of a star. A real fortified city! A shortcut across the Herengracht takes you to the Zoeterwoudse Singel, on the Vliet. Via yet another part of the Oude Rijn you drive to the Ommedijkse Polder and the Valkenburgse Meer, around which a historic tram line runs.
