Walking along the Vecht through Het Groene Hart

You start this ten-kilometre long walking route along waters, through meadows and typical Dutch towns from Farm Camping Doornenbal. The first kilometers you walk along the Vecht. To the left and right are majestic country houses and castles. After about three kilometers you arrive in Nieuwersluis. Here is also the fort of the same name that was built during the war against the Spaniards. From 1673 it is part of the reinforcement of the Dutch Waterline. There were farms within the fort. As a result, Nieuwersluis could be regarded as a fortress village. You enter Breukelen via the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal. In this beautiful town there are plenty of options for a delicious cup of coffee and a sandwich. You cross the Vecht again until you reach the Loosdrechtse Plassen. This is how you walk back to Farm Camping Doornenbal.
