Tour of Maashorst, Berlicum and Schaijk

Your cycling route starts with a cup of coffee at Eetcafé de Notaris in Schaijk. You can drive straight into the Maashorst, a vast nature reserve of coniferous forests and heaths. The name refers to the Meuse that flowed here 125,000 years ago. Picturesque villages are a pleasant change from the greenery and the cultivated land seems to fit seamlessly into the pieces of untouched nature that you encounter along the way. Only a gatehouse remains of Assendelft Berlicum Castle, but it is a picture. Further on, you can have a drink at Eetcafé de Prins in Berlicum before you cycle back.
