Eight of a walk around the Langeraarseplas

In places where peat used to be extracted, there are now greenhouses full of colorful flowers. During this walk you will explore the surroundings of the Langeraarse Plas, an area with low moor lakes. The lakes were created in the 16th century by peat extraction from a vast low-lying peat area. The proximity of a good connection to Amsterdam played a major role in this. The lake attracts large numbers of water birds, which ensures a beautiful flora and fauna.
