Tour of the Brabantse Wal

You start this cycling route through West-Brabant at the Kraaijenberg Visitor Centre, where you can easily park. At the start of the route you explore the atmospheric Bergen op Zoom, after which you head towards the water-rich area of the Markiezaatsmeer. This is the richest breeding area for birds in the Netherlands. Over the Oesterdam you enjoy the vast landscape and the view over the water. Via Hoogerheide you cycle through the Brabantse Wal. The Brabantse Wal is a steep edge eroded by the primeval Scheldt, an abrupt transition from the higher sandy soils to lower sea clay polders.
