Walking through De Muy from De Koog

Dunes, forest, the beach. You can walk freely in the Dorpsstraat. Here you pass, among other things, the Reformed Church, a building with a white facade from 1719. Its predecessor had disappeared into the sea. You then walk through a small forest plot on the edge of the Duinen van Texel National Park. Further on you walk through the Netherlands and De Muy: two bird-rich nature reserves where agriculture was practiced until the beginning of this century. You will see beautiful dunes with very steep slopes where heather and orchids grow. There are also ponds, meadows and a pine forest called the Warship. At the end of your route you can get a breath of fresh air on the beach. And let your feet cool off in the surf.
