Description

The island may not be that big, but you will find plenty of variety. The first kilometers you will spend some time in the polders with their sheep-grazed meadows, sheep pens and old bell-shaped farms. You drive through Den Burg, the largest village on Texel. Just before junction 41 you pass the Georgian Cemetery, a monument from the Second World War. There are two monumental orphan wells on the Skillepadje that were mainly used by the VOC. The water from these wells was rich in iron and therefore had a long shelf life. You pass through the picturesque Den Hoorn, after which you drive back through the Duinen van Texel National Park.
