Walking stage 6: Terheijden - Oosterhout | Zuiderwaterlinie

The Zuiderwaterlinie Walking Path does not lead you through Breda, but this pleasant city with a rich history is definitely worth a visit. Everywhere in the city you will find traces of its military past. Breda was the battleground between the Northern Netherlands and the Spaniards for a long time. Today, this former fortified town is a popular tourist destination, with sights such as the historic Pigeon and Garnet Tower and the Spanjaardsgat. The surrounding countryside also offers the ideal opportunity for a relaxing walk along the Spinolaschans or the redoubts on the Zwarte Dijk.
