The Zuiderwaterlinie Wandelpad does not take you through Breda, but this pleasant city with a rich history is definitely worth a visit. You will find traces of its military past everywhere in the city. Breda was the battlefield between the Northern Netherlands and the Spanish for a long time. Nowadays, this former fortified city is a popular tourist destination, with sights such as the historic Duiven- and Granaattoren and the Spanjaardsgat. The surrounding countryside also offers the ideal opportunity for a relaxing walk along the Spinolaschans or the redoubts on the Zwarte Dijk.
