Description
Once you leave Voorschoten you walk south along a canal to the lakes of the Vlietland. This polder area is formed by three lakes with different beaches. You walk through a park-like landscape. Through forests, creeks and meadows. Started as a sand extraction area in 1970, Vlietland has grown into a popular hiking and cycling destination. You continue your route towards Stolwijk. This South Holland village is famous for"Stolksekaas\\\". For example, the former municipality of Vlist had three cheeses and the city coat of arms. Also in Stompwijk you will find the 45 meter high neo-Gothic tower from the year 1501. You now walk back to your starting point.
