Tour of Wassenaar and The Hague

From Leiden you cycle to the stately town of Wassenaar, known for its monumental villas and country estates. The bike ride takes you through the Valkenburgsemeer along the wooded edges of Wassenaar. Get off here at Restaurant de Baron to grab a terrace! You continue your route towards The Hague. The Peace Chapel is the next attraction, it was once built for the soldiers of the surrounding barracks. The chapel is still connected to the Royal House, Queen Juliana and Beatrix, among others, attended services there. From The Hague you cycle via Voorburg towards the Vlietland recreation area. These three lakes are surrounded by forests and creeks. Then you cycle through the meadows back to your starting point. So much green, you probably didn't expect that in the Randstad!
