From Leiden you cycle to the stately Wassenaar, known for its monumental villas and estates. The cycle tour takes you via the Valkenburgsemeer along the wooded edges of Wassenaar. You continue your route towards The Hague. The Vredeskapel is the next attraction, it was once built for the soldiers of the surrounding barracks. The chapel is still connected to the Royal Family, Queen Juliana and Beatrix attended services there, among others. From The Hague you cycle via Voorburg towards the Vlietland recreation area. These three lakes are surrounded by forests and creeks. Then you cycle through the meadows back to your starting point. So much greenery, you probably didn't expect that in the Randstad!
