In this extensive nature reserve you drive along quiet paths through a mix of forests and heathlands. How wonderfully quiet it is here! In the Drentsche Aa National Landscape, the landscape has hardly changed in 150 years. Cycling through the mosaic of grasslands, groves, hedgerows and ash trees, you get a unique glimpse into Drenthe's history. The beautiful heathland of the Balloërveld is also on your route. In between you will see some characteristic Saxon farms in Andere and Gasteren. In Esdorp Gieten you can view the beautiful village church before you drive back to the starting point.
