From the Havenkade you walk towards the fortified town of Elburg. Time seems to have stood still within the walls of this square fishing town. You can walk straight into the Hanseatic city through the medieval city gate. The Vischpoort is the characteristic front door of Elburg. Don't forget to bring your camera, because this fortified city is incredibly photogenic. There is something beautiful to see on every corner of the streets - with characteristic sidewalks of white and black cobblestones. Take, for example, the Gruithuis, the only remaining house in Elburg that dates from before the city was moved.
Tour tip; Hiking with kids! Routes up to 5 km are ideal
