Tour of Nijkerk, Amersfoort and Eem Valley

Get on your bike and head towards Landgoed Hoevelaken, a nature reserve with a wide variety of plant species. Then you cycle through Amersfoort. Here you will see the Monnikendam and Koppelpoort, both dating back to the Middle Ages. Then you cycle many kilometres through the Eem Valley, a vast landscape of vast grasslands, ditches, dikes and old farms. From junction 6 you cycle along the Laak, a stream that was canalised around 1200. It is wonderfully quiet in the fourteenth-century Arkenheempolder. At Pancake Farm De Wildenburg you can regain your strength with a delicious meal, after which you cycle back to Nijkerk.
