Historic walking route Landgoed Gorp en Roovert

Your walking route starts at the historic Restaurant De Nieuwe Hoef. In the winter you can warm up by the fireplace with a hot cup of chocolate milk, and when the weather is good you can settle down on the cozy spacious terrace. The beautiful Landgoed Gorp en Roovert stretches out in front of you here. You will find a mosaic of deciduous and coniferous forests here, occasionally you pass fields and grasslands. You also cross the Rovertse Leij, via the Paradijsbrug. Take a moment at Fusilladeplaats and War Graves Gorp and Rovert, where 5 hostages were executed in reprisal for the sabotage on August 7, 1942 on a railway line in Rotterdam. In the hamlet of Gorp you can see some old farms and a monumental hunting lodge. A beautiful place that takes you back in time.
