Cycling route: 1012296
Provided by: route.nl
Waterland is a region just above Amsterdam. You will find low-lying polders and historic towns. The route starts on the edge of the beautiful Zuiderwoude. You can get a breath of fresh air while cycling on the seawall, while enjoying the beautiful view over the Gouwzee and the Markermeer. In Ransdorp you see wooden houses and farmhouses. You can also have a pit stop here at Hotel Café de Zwaan. Further on you drive through the picturesque Durgerdam, after which you drive into the polder. It is wonderfully quiet here between the meadows. Monnickendam is the dessert of this route. In this old town you stumble, so to speak, over the monumental buildings with characteristic facades. Get off to enjoy the unique atmosphere before you drive back to Zuiderwoude.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
