Green walking route through Amersfoort

This route takes you through the outskirts of Amersfoort to the south of the city. Amersfoort is easy to reach with the Valleilijn. Then you can set off with the train station as a base. The first part of this route runs from Amersfoort station through the cozy streets of the city. After about 3 kilometers of walking you are out of town. Time to get acquainted with all the greenery around Amersfoort. You will find the Lockhorst estate here in the middle of nature. There was once a knight's court town in this area, but today you will only find a country house from the \\'30s. The former fortified castle was located on an island. From the estate you walk through the historic center of Amersfoort back to the train station.
