Description
Start at the island ofGaatsensoog. Here you can easily park in the neighborhood. Before the first intersection at the bus shelter, you can"cut out\\\" over the grass (can be very soggy) so that you have to walk less on the public road. Until you turn right into the polder there is no separate walking path and you are walking on the public road, so watch out and make sure you are visible.
Good to do with dog, provided it can follow the first part neatly. In the polder behind Portland is the off-leash area and when you leave the Carnisse Grienden again, after the parking lot there is another off-leash area. In the Grienden itself there is a leash requirement.
In the summer months there is often an ice cream truck at this parking lot, no further catering until just before the terminus at the"Carnisse veste\\\" shopping center. Dogs are welcome on the terrace. I don't know if they are allowed in, so inquire yourself at the various occasions.
Also walk up the hill, in clear weather you have a magnificent view of the skyline of Rotterdam on one side and the Hoekse Waard on the other side.
