Cycling at the Loosdrechtse Plassen

A round of the Loosdrechtse Plassen is a great experience by bike. For example, the wetland area has beautiful places where you pass. The lakes are separated by islands and reed beds and this gives beautiful views.

During the route you cycle along the Loosdrechtse Plassen, also known as the'water garden of the Netherlands\\\'. On a sunny summer day it is bustling with water sports enthusiasts and nature lovers. The Loosdrechtse Plassen consists of several lakes and has been designated as a special protection zone for birds. Bird lovers can indulge themselves here.

Direction Hollandsche Rading
After you have explored the surroundings of the Loosdrechtse Plassen, you cycle towards Westbroek and Maartensdijk. The area in which you cycle is a rural area, a wonderful polder landscape to cycle through. Then you cycle north to Hollandsche Rading and then continue to the final destination of the route: Nieuw-Loosdrecht, which was first mentioned at the end of the thirteenth century. Back then it was still called Zijpe.
