Small round around Scheulder

Discover the orchid fields of the Gerendal, a special place in South Limburg! You also take a nice walk through the Sint-Jansbos.

Today you will discover the idyllic Gerendal, one of the most beautiful places in South Limburg. Many types of orchids bloom in the grasslands in May and June. During this slightly hilly walk you walk straight from the village through the beautiful Gerendal down to the orchid garden and forestry. Don't forget to take pictures of this beautiful area!

Sint-Jansbos
Then you walk further through the valley to the edge of Schin op Geul where you will find a picnic area. Then you climb through the meadow to the edge of the forest, with a beautiful view of Old Valkenburg. On the way back you climb up through the Sint-Jansbos and walk over a plateau to the hamlet of IJzeren. Via footpaths and country roads you come back to Scheulder where there is a terrace. Along the way you will find enough benches for a break.
