Unique in the Netherlands: the Camperduin lagoon. Enjoy the wonderful view and the bathers playing - you can also spot special guests, such as seals!
Lagoon
Your walking route starts with a cup of coffee on the spacious terrace of Beach Pavilion Hargen, beautifully situated in a unique nature reserve on one of the most beautiful beaches in the Netherlands. A lagoon was constructed here in 2015. Since the coast between Hargen and Petten was strengthened, hundreds of meters of beach have been added. A wide beach has been created between Hargen and Petten. New dunes have also been constructed, all to make the hinterland more resistant to flooding.
Seals
You walk north along the lagoon. During your walk you can spot seals and enjoy the panoramic view. The lagoon is also popular with bathers, who can cool off here. Ideal for small children who can splash around and build sand castles. Canoeists and surfers have also discovered the lagoon. You walk straight through the dunes at the Hargergat under Camperduin back to your starting point. What a beautiful natural route!
