Historical discoveries on the Veluwe

There is so much to discover on the Veluwe! Do you already know Staverden Estate? And the Roman marching camp on the Ermelose Heide?

Pleasant Garderen
The route starts at Hotel Mennorode, where you spend the night in the middle of the Veluwe. You cycle straight through the woods to Hoog-Soeren, a town that enjoys a protected village view because of its authentic historical appearance. A little further on you will discover the cozy Garderen. In the Sprielderbos you cycle between old deciduous and coniferous trees. Take a deep breath and enjoy the fresh air. You drive straight through Putten to the open polder landscape at the Nuldernauw.

Staverden Estate
On the edge of the Ermelose Heide you can still see the contours of the only Roman marching camp that the Netherlands has known. A little later you drive past the picturesque Staverden Estate. Centuries ago this was built as the beginning of a city. There are still some beautiful old buildings there. The craft beer brewery De Uddelaer has been located in the coach house of the castle since 2018. Finally, you cycle through Elspeet with its characteristic farms.
