Historical discoveries on the Veluwe

The route starts at Hotel Mennorode. You cycle straight through the woods to Hoog-Soeren, a town with an authentic historical appearance. A little further on you discover the cozy Garderen. In the Sprielderbos you cycle between old deciduous and coniferous trees. Straight through Putten you cycle to the open polder landscape at the Nuldernauw. On the edge of the Ermelose Heide you can still see the contours of the only Roman marching camp that has left its mark in the Netherlands. A little later you cycle past the picturesque Landgoed Staverden. Centuries ago this was built as the beginning of a city. There are still some beautiful old buildings there. Since 2018, the castle's coach house has housed the traditional brewery De Uddelaer. Finally, you cycle through Elspeet with its characteristic farmhouses.
