The Elspeetse Heide and Het Loo Palace

The route starts at Hotel Mennorode. You immediately cycle into the vast forests of the Veluwe. Enjoy the nature and the silence. You will soon pass through Elspeet with its characteristic old farms. On the Elspeetse Heide you have a beautiful view of the plain from the saddle. Special about the Elspeetse Heide is the presence of centuries-old burial mounds and old oak coppice forests. Heath sheep have traditionally grazed the heath. It is not without reason that at the end of the nineteenth century various painters around Nunspeet captured the farm life: the landscape here is a picturesque mix of meadows, hedgerows and old farms. Via Wiesel you cycle back, along the northern border of the Paleis het Loo park with its vast forests. Beautiful in every season!
