Forest walk: Elspeet and the Elspeetse Heide

A walk along Elspeet with its beautiful farms and the beautiful countryside. You can also dive into the woods around the Elspeetse Heide. You might even meet the shepherd with his flock!

Elspeetse Heide
At Hotel Mennorode you can put on your walking shoes after a cup of coffee. The rolling Elspeetse Heide is a remnant of the immense heathland that once covered this part of the Veluwe. It is a culturally-historically valuable area, because there are several centuries-old burial mounds here. You will also find old oak coppice groves here. It is nice and quiet on the heath, you only hear the bleating of the heath sheep that traditionally graze here.

Veluwe forests
You first walk along an avenue through a beautiful beech forest. The beech trees here have a beautifully irregular shape. You will soon pass through Elspeet with its characteristic old farms. You can also enjoy beautiful farms in the countryside. Then you dive back into the vast forests of the Veluwe. Enjoy a nice walk in the fresh forest air, enjoy nature and the silence. You walk back straight through the woods and along the heath.
