Tour of Mierlo, Geldrop and Strabrechtse Heide

The route leads you through the varied natural beauty around Mierlo and Geldrop. In Mierlo itself you cycle past an old flour mill and a town hall. You drive through the forests of the Luchense Heide to the Eindhoven Canal. This waterway was completed in 1846 and connects the center of Eindhoven with the Zuid-Willemsvaart. You cycle into Geldrop through the valley of the Kleine Dommel. You pass Geldrop Castle, after which you can have something to eat at Kaffee Peijnenburg & Hotel Nijver. The Molenheide nature reserve was once a vast heathland, but was developed as a job creation project just before the Second World War. Further on you will take part in a piece of the Strabrechtse Heide, and a little later you will cycle through the forest of the Herselse Heide. Just before the end point you pass a Maria chapel from 1951.
