The Strabrechtse Heide is beautiful, but did you know that you can also walk straight into the ancient Herbertus forests here? Nearby you will also discover the beautiful stream valley of the Sterkselse Aa.
Strabrechtse Heide
Your walking route starts at Kapellerput, in the middle of the woods just outside Heeze. A nice base for something to eat or drink or to sleep for a night. From here you can walk straight into the Strabrechtse Heide, where you will experience how large parts of North Brabant used to be. You have beautiful views and the silence in this area is wonderfully refreshing. You may come across the large herd of Kempen sheep that still graze the heath.
Herbertusbos
The Herbertus forests are very old. They are located behind Heeze Castle and are named after the first Lord of Heeze and have a lot of variety. Deciduous and coniferous trees are thicker and fuller here. It is not without reason that the area has been nominated for the title 'Most Beautiful Place in the Netherlands'! Then you take a short walk through the woods behind Kapellerput. You cross the strongly meandering Sterkselse Aa and walk through the village of Ginderover back to your starting point.
