On the road in Walcheren, past beautiful seaside resorts and charming villages and towns. And even a real castle!
Domburg
After you have picked up your rental bike at the Fietstoko in Vrouwenpolder, you will soon cycle past Westhove Castle. The history of this building goes back to the Middle Ages. The Terra Maris Museum is located in the orangery. You can enjoy a beautiful panorama from the recreated motte-and-bailey castle. Then get off in Domburg to experience the grandeur of a historic seaside resort. Time to have a nice cup of coffee somewhere!
Westkapelse Creek
You drive from the nice Westkapelle to Zoutelande via the Westkapelse Kreek. The creek was created after the Allied bombardment in WWII, during which a large part of the sea wall and the village itself were blown up. The coast from Westkapelle to the south is a series of small plots of deciduous forest, meadows and dunes. In Middelburg you can stop at Lientje Antique Toy Museum, with toys from the period 1800-1950. At the inner harbor you will see many beautiful old buildings.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
