Description
Verlaat is a small but beautiful village between Heerhugowaard and Schagen. From the village there are some beautiful hiking trails through the countryside. This route takes you through the polders between Verlaat and Veenhuizen.
Tomb
You walk through the hamlet of Frik on a quiet road with little traffic. You see a few farmhouses, in between you look out over the meadows and fields. In Veenhuizen you will pass a bell chair. The tomb of Baron van Brederode from 1633 is located in the modern church.
