Description
In Hindeloopen you will find a special cultural history. In the vicinity of the town it is wonderful to walk through the polders.
Polder mill
You set off on a road where few cars drive. You walk through the wide polders, a wonderful place to get a breath of fresh air and to clear your mind. Just before the dike you can see the Nylânnermolen, a thatched polder mill from 1784.
Lighthouse
As you walk along the former Zuiderzeedijk, you will see the former lighthouse of Workum on your left. On the right you look out over Stoenckherne, a salt marsh area outside the dikes that turns yellow in spring due to the rare spider flower. In the distance you can see the church tower of Hindeloopen, a picturesque town with many old buildings.
