Rondje Beverweerd is a short walking route around Beverweerd Castle. The route starts from the bridge over the Kromme Rijn on the Molenhoeflaan where you can park your bike. You can also start the walk from the Brink in Werkhoven. Then follow the Aderwinkelpad to the bus stop on the other side of the provincial road and walk into the Beverweertseweg in the direction of the castle. The walk goes over sight lanes of Castle Beverweerd and narrow paths through meadows and farmer's bushes. Before you enter De Laan, walk a little further to visit the castle grounds, view the coach house and the castle. The residential tower in the middle of the castle, donjon, still dates from the 13th century. The moat around the castle is fed by the water of the Kromme Rijn. A nice detail: the balustrades on the river side are supported by sculpted beavers.
In the wet season parts of the route can be very wet and muddy.
