Fancy a bike ride through the beautiful polder area around Schagen? Then this route is for you. You will cycle through various authentic towns along the way and you will also get to know the typical Dutch polders that you will find here. You start in Schagen at Museum Battle of the Somme 1914-1918. This museum is dedicated to the First World War and the Battle of the Somme that took place in 1916. Once you have taken a look there, you leave for Wieringerwaard and Middenmeer. You cycle right through the arable farming, a wonderful area to get a breath of fresh air and relax. You cycle towards Haringhuizen, a pleasant village where the Willibrorduskerk is built on an artificial terp. Complete your cycle tour and cycle back towards Schagen.
