Fancy a bike ride through the beautiful polder area around Schagen? Then this route is for you. You will cycle through various authentic villages along the way and you will also get to know the typical Dutch polders that you will find here. You start in Schagen at the Battle of the Somme 1914-1918 Museum. This museum is dedicated to the First World War and the Battle of Somme that took place in 1916. Once you have taken a look there, you will leave for Wieringerwaard and Middenmeer. You cycle straight through arable farming, a wonderful area to get a breath of fresh air and relax. You cycle in the direction of Haringhuizen, a cozy village where the Willibrordus Church has been built on an artificial mound. Complete your cycling tour and cycle back to Schagen.
