The Utrecht estate
This area owes its name to the life insurance company 'De Utrecht' and is located in the area of Bladel and Lage Mierde in North Brabant. From 1898 onwards, extensive heathlands were cultivated here on a large scale. Ultimately, the heath was converted into 1,800 hectares of forest and 600 hectares of agricultural land, while 400 hectares of nature reserves remained. A monumental fire tower with a forester's house is a reminder of these activities.

Walking through the forest
The forest of Landgoed de Utrecht consists mainly of Scots pine and European larch and supplied prop wood to the South Limburg coal mines. The estate is part of a large quiet area, but is open to walkers, cyclists and horse riders between sunrise and sunset. Here you can really relax and enjoy the nature around you.
