This route takes you along the Loosdrechtse Plassen, a varied nature reserve. You start the route in Oud-Loosdrecht, a village of five streets and three dikes. You walk past monumental eighteenth-century farms and past the village church from 1843. From the Veendijk you have a beautiful view of the lakes created by peat extraction. You pass Fort Spion, built between 1844 and 1847, which was part of the New Dutch Waterline. You walk past the Vrederijk Estate to the banks of the Vecht. You see so many beautiful old farms and villas here that it looks like an outdoor museum. After junction 32 you walk over a narrow dike along the lakes. You can enjoy the views and the peace here.
