Beaufort House
The starting point of this route is Café & Terras Beauforthuis, which is located in the middle of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. A perfect base, in the middle of the forests and heathlands, to start your walk. There are parking spaces across from the café. Start with a nice cup of coffee or tea and something tasty from the organic menu. When you return, satisfy your hunger with one of the delicious vegetable quiches with, for example, a special beer. The Beauforthuis is a theatre café, so who knows, you might stay for a concert or theatre performance.

Where can you walk better than in a National Park? The Heuvelrug is the largest forest area in the Netherlands after the Veluwe. The Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park consists of forest, heathland, sand drifts and grassland. You can walk wonderfully over the moraine, through the heathland, past castles and estates, in the floodplains and in the forest. Marvel at nature and who knows, you might see deer, badgers or lizards.

Pyramid of Austerlitz
Along the way you will come across various sights. For example, at one point you will pass the Pyramid of Austerlitz. The 36-metre high pyramid was built in 1805 by Napoleon's soldiers and is one of the highlights of the Heuvelrug. Inspired by a campaign in Egypt, General Marmont chose a pyramid, crowned with an obelisk. From the top you have a beautiful view of the region in clear weather. The Pyramid of Austerlitz\\\" owes its visitors mainly to the wooded surroundings.
