Polder walk Schagerbrug and Maartensbrug

This route takes you through a number of downright picturesque towns. You will see many monumental buildings here, such as typical farmhouses and polder windmills. The West Frisian polder is known for its wide views, high Dutch skies and colorful bulb fields. It is a pleasure to walk in such beautiful scenery, especially when you know how much work has gone into taming the sea and wild lands. The old hamlets and ribbon villages that arose here after the reclamation, such as Sint Maartensbrug, are not well known but worth a visit.
