Middle Ages
At Boutique Hotel De Blauwe Pauw you put on your walking shoes. Here you are in the middle of the medieval heart of 's-Hertogenbosch, one of the oldest and most complete city centers in the Netherlands. The earliest mention of's-Hertogenbosch comes from a document from 1196. The episcopal seat and former garrison town is best known for its beautiful St. John's Cathedral, a highlight of the late Brabant Gothic style. But you will also pass the Capuchin Museum, where you will learn more about the history of these friars.

Hieronymus Bosch
You can visit the Bastionder, an underground information center where you will find information about the Bossche Fortifications. The Noordbrabants Museum is also worth a visit. Marvel at Zwanenbroedershuis: this beautiful neo-Gothic building stands on the spot where the Brotherhood of Our Lady had been located for centuries, with illustrious members such as Hieronymus Bosch and William of Orange. Be sure to visit the Jheronimus Bosch Art Center in the former St. James' Church, completely dedicated to Bosch's works.
