Middle Ages
At Boutique Hotel De Blauwe Pauw you put on your walking shoes. You are in the middle of the medieval heart of's-Hertogenbosch, one of the oldest and most complete city centers in the Netherlands. The earliest mention of's-Hertogenbosch dates from a document from 1196. The episcopal seat and former garrison town is best known for the beautiful St. John's Cathedral, a highlight of the late Brabant Gothic style. But you will also pass the Capuchin Museum, where you can learn more about the history of these fathers.

You can also pay a visit to the Bastionder, an underground information center where you will find information about the Bossche Fortifications. The Noordbrabants Museum is also worth a visit. Marvel at Zwanenbroedershuis: this beautiful neo-Gothic building stands on the spot where the Lieve Vrouwe Broederschap had been located for centuries, with illustrious members such as Jeroen Bosch and Willem van Oranje. Be sure to visit the Jheronimus Bosch Art Center in the former Sint-Jacobskerk, completely dedicated to the works of Bosch.
