Walking past Rotterdam icons

This route takes you past a number of icons from the Rotterdam cityscape. In between you can enjoy the pleasant and vibrant Rotterdam.

Maas Boulevard
First you walk along the Old Port. Here you will see, among other things, the Netherlands' own White House: a 45-meter-high office building from 1898 in Art Nouveau style. It was the first skyscraper in Europe at the time. You can get a breath of fresh air on the Maasboulevard while looking out at some architectural highlights. You will of course see the famous Erasmus Bridge, behind which rises on the Kop van Zuid De Rotterdam: three gigantic towers by architect Rem Koolhaas.

Witte de With
You walk along the Rijnhaven, after which you take a ferry near Hotel New York, the former headquarters of the Holland America Line. From the Veerhaven you walk through Het Park and pass the Euromast. You pass the Kunsthal, walk through the Museum Park to the Witte de Withstraat: one of the most beautiful streets in Rotterdam. Here you will find, among others, the Booijmans van Beuningen.
