Description

The Veluwe is more than just forest, you will also encounter beautiful heathland and shifting sand areas. But of course this walk also leads you through a beautiful forest - one where you can spot some good game!

drifting sand
The Leuvenumse Bos is a varied deciduous and coniferous forest that consists of four sub-areas, each of which has its own flora and fauna. A large shifting sand plain with high sand dunes is one of them: this is the Hulshorsterheide. A beautiful rugged area, where nature still has the say.

Shepherd
You also walk a long way through the woods. There is a lot of game in the Leuvenumse Bos, who knows, you might spot boars, roe deer or red deer. To keep these populations healthy, wild bridges have been constructed and dead wood is left behind. You walk back via the rolling Elspeetse Heide. Here you can enjoy beautiful views. The shepherd walks around with his sheep every day, maybe you will run into him!
