Hi Willeke,
a few tips for the road
(sorry, it had to be a walking route, not a cycling route. So you can do both!! Except that you are not allowed to cycle in the park ...)
the Julianapark, nice to walk through. More fun than walking that part on the Amsterdamsestraatweg (which was built by Napoleon by the way...).
Linnaeusstraat 25bis, that's where I live and where you can drink a cup of coffee.
If I'm not there, you'll pass by the Color Kitchen a little later: pr Christinalaan 1 where you can sit and eat and drink something delicious.
From the Vechtdijk you can see the Parel van Zuilen on the other side of the water, soon you can go there with a ferry.
You walk inside along the lock, and from there towards Oud Zuilen. There are some beautiful places to see! a description of what you can see and do there can be found on a link that I cannot paste in here, but if you google for bed and breakfast maarsseveen, walk old pillars you will find a pdf.
On the way back you should definitely have dinner at Belle, or in the tea garden of Belle van Zuylen Castle, or in the Parel van Zuilen. All beautiful historical places, close to Utrecht.
I'm moving out of Zuilen next year and I think that's one thing ... you're in this beautiful nature reserve in no time and it's a really nice cozy neighborhood where a lot is happening.
Then, in addition to a nice walk, you want to wish all the best for the next steps in your life. I hope you will find a nice place to use your many talents and enthusiasm. We will certainly miss you, you are a very nice, kind, secure, cheerful and very skilled colleague!!
Greetings from Hester
