Your route starts at Cheese Farm De Twee Hoeven. First you cycle through the green and quiet surroundings of small villages such as Oudewater and Lopik. Then you follow the Lek to Schoonhoven, via the Wielewaal Nature Museum. This nice museum is located in a former farm, where you can learn more about the varied nature of the Groene Hart. Schoonhoven itself is bursting with cultural history. The Waag dates from 1617 and the Grote Kerk originally dates from the thirteenth century. On the way back, take your time to discover Gouda. Thanks to inland navigation on the rivers, this city grew into an important city in the Middle Ages. In the center you can still see beautiful, historic buildings. Gouda is also - of course - known for its Gouda cheese.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
