Description
From IJsselstein you cycle many kilometres along the dike along the Lek. You also cycle through the Krimpener- and Lopikerwaard: two regions that are largely below NAP.
Schoonhoven
The route starts in IJsselstein. In the historic centre of this town you will feel like you are in the Middle Ages thanks to the beautiful old buildings. Then you cycle up the Lekdijk. Here you can enjoy many kilometres of views over the meadows, floodplains and the rippling water. What a beautiful landscape! On the river you will find some beautiful towns, such as the old silver town of Schoonhoven.
IJsselstein
Here you ride through a wide polder landscape where numerous willows and beautiful old farms stand along the road. It is wonderfully quiet here, ideal for a day of relaxation. You pass through villages such as Cabauw, Polsbroekerdam and Benschop, after which you cycle through the beautiful IJsselstein once more.
