Krimpenerwaard, South Holland, The Netherlands
Cycling route: 1002555

It is wonderful to cycle along the dike along the Lek. In the vast polders of the Krimpenerwaard you will find plenty of peace, space and villages worth seeing.
Krimpenerhout
You regularly pass a beautiful old farm. You will have no trouble recharging the battery here. After a while you drive into the vast Krimpenerwaard, to the left of the path is the Krimpenerhout nature reserve.
Loetbos
Further on you drive through the Loetbos, a nature reserve named after the river De Loet. Native trees such as willows, alders and poplars grow there: species that feel at home in this low peat area. Already from the polder you can see the monumental Kempen church tower of Stolwijk. In 1946, the sagging tower was moved slightly straighter: from about 1.35 meters to 'only' 85 centimeters out of plumb. You cycle back to Ammerstol via the picturesque hamlet of Vlist.
