Description
On Walcheren you will take a walk through Oostkapelle and the Manteling. Put on your sturdy shoes and come and unwind in this beautiful region.
Westhove Castle
From Frieterie De Bostent you first walk through the Manteling. Hardly anywhere else in Europe do deciduous trees grow so close to the coast as here. But with a price: many trees are no higher than a meter. They have been clipped by the biting west wind and the blowing salt. After a while you walk past Kasteel Westhove. The history of this building goes back to the Middle Ages.
Terra Maris
The Terra Maris museum is located in the castle's orangery. Upon entry, you also have access to the replica of the motte castle. From the top, you have a beautiful panorama. In Oostkapelle, you can admire the beautiful village church on the Ring. The tower dates back to the fourteenth century. Further on, you see D\\\'Arke, a corn mill from 1858. Finally, you walk back into the dune forest. What silence!
